Dexter is a manufacturer and distributor specialized in high-end communication and signalling equipment for industrial and explosive hazardous environments.

Dexter has the know-how to advise and deliver audio and visual applications for Marine and Oil & Gas installations

In the Dutch marketplace the supply of and knowledge about products for hazardous areas and explosive areas used to be scattered over a number of different companies. Dexter was founded in 1999, based on the idea of forming a one-stop-shop for the industry.

In a relatively short period of time, Dexter has built itself a solid reputation as a centre of knowledge and a reliable supplier of explosion safe components and alarm, control, signalling and communication devices. We at Dexter believe we distinguish ourselves by truly understanding what ‘hazardous area’ means, and thereby we can help our customers create safe working areas that protect both employees and the environment.

Product development

Since 1999, Dexter has come across many situations where no ready-to-use solutions were available and something new had to be developed. As a response to these 'missing links' in the industry, we started creating our own solutions and, eventually, producing these on a regular basis. To name just one category: we have been the manufacturer of a continuously expanding line of the DEXCAM (dome) cameras for hazardous areas since 2005.

ATEX and IECEx Certification

As producers of explosion safety equipment we are expected to comply with the strictest of safety standards. The implementation and assessment of a quality management system help us meet those standards. In our case that means ATEX 94/9/EC and NEN-EN-ISO/IEC 80079-34 certificate  –an extension of ISO 9001:2008- related to the production of explosion safety materials.

Production Assurance Notification DEKRA 11ATEXQ0272 and IECEx Quality Assessment Agreement are also in place. We, at Team Dexter, are proud to be able to repeatedly meet the very high standards for this certificate. It shows that we are on the right track and it assures you, our clients, that we will continue to deliver the quality you have learned to expect from us.
