DEX30, Bluewater’s choice

We at Dexter are happy to see the growing interest in our flagship model Ex dome camera, DEX30, worldwide. To name just one example, Bluewater Energy Services BV proposes to use the Aoka Mizu Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) for the Early Production System (EPS) and future development stages of the Lancaster field, West of Shetlands. Aoka Mizu is the seventh Bluewater designed, built, owned and operated FPSO installation. It has been operating on her previous field life since 2009 with good uptimes and excellent HSE performance. The facilities of the FPSO will be optimized to suit the Lancaster requirements, part of which will be the topside installation of 8 DEX30 Ex dome cameras.

The choice for DEX30 has been inspired by Bluewater’s earlier positive experiences with Dexter Ex cameras. Dexter’s unique IP over Coax system will make it possible to realise an IP network using existing Coax cabling, which is far more cost-effective than a complete rewiring would be. With Nitek’s Etherstretch Technology we can quickly turn any ordinary telecommunications cable into a high speed network communication & PoE path. When operating over coaxial cable, this system can perform flawlessly with cable lengths of up to 500 meters (1640 feet).
